How long has Pinehurst been around?
Since 1895! Pinehurst is the home of the very first golf course on American soil, which is why we are the “Cradle of American Golf” Everywhere you look there is rich history, architectural details, and a charming community feel. As a wedding venue itself, we take care of so much for our brides, it helps to make the wedding planning process–not just the actual wedding day–a fun filled, stress-free process.
What makes your venue unique? Are there any special times of year where your property is even prettier than normal?
Christmas at Pinehurst is stunning–we really go all out, both on the Resort and in the Village. Thousands upon thousands of Christmas lights, countless trees, and oh my the poinsettias! Although everyone will tell you that you can’t beat the Falls in North Carolina, the Spring flowers and trees in blooms are a high contender!
How many weddings can you accommodate on any day since you have multiple ceremony and reception options?
We have 36 different venues, so technically quite a lot! I never hope to come close to that number though. Each bride is unique and special and we want her to feel as such, so we try to not do more than 1 or 2 per day.
Do you have any suggestions, or things to avoid, from past weddings?
Every bride needs to do 2 things during the wedding, both on the day and in the planning process.
Remember at the end of the day, the point is you will be married to your best friend. Everything else is just lovely fluff, they could drop a house on your special day and it wouldn’t change you becoming a husband and wife. Enjoy the process!
EAT! Don’t go a whole year planning a wedding and then not enjoy your wedding meal! I promise your guests will still be there to chat when you are done inhaling your entrée. Nothing makes me shake my head like stories of couples swinging through a fast-food joint after their wedding reception. You can bet my ladies get to eat on their night!
